Advertsing software or adware as it’s commonly known is one of the main reasons why your computer are running so slow – and why you want to smash your screen to bits every time a pop up add appears out of nowhere. The stealth advertsing methods is widely exploited by millions of companies wanting to treat your computer as a billboard for their products.

Adware is much more than just pop up ads. Adware “developers” want to target you in a much more sophisticated way. They want to determine what you are into first and will often monitor your web activities to see what kind of sites you visit.

This will allow them to sell advertising space on your computer for much more money. It’s big business. But for most of us it’s just downright annoying. The thought of someone else invading my privacy like that is enough to make me mad – and trying to get rid of adware can be quite a challenge.

Removing adware manually can be virtually impossible as most adware attaches itself to your system files and even if you delete the files, it tends to just reinstall itself next time you start your computer up. Adware can be like a turd that won’t flush (sorry for that lame joke – I just had to lol).

The most effective way to get rid of adware is with an adware remover like No Adware or Adware Alert. These are simple applications that you download and install on your computer. They are linked to a central database that stores all their adware definitions. These are simply “instructions” for the software telling it how to disable a specific adware program.

When the adware remover scans your computer, the definition will tell it what to look for and where to look for it as well as how to get rid of it. These adware applications are constantly updated to stay on top of the latest adware programs. This is why it’s so important that you constantly update your adware software to make sure that you are always protected against the latest threats.

If you spend a lot of time on the internet and especially if you download lots of movie or music files, then you need to make sure that you update your adware software daily. Most download sites and especially file sharing sites are riddled with adware and downloading files from these sites can put your computer and your privacy at serious risk if you are not well protected.

Apart from the obvious threat from file sharing sites, a lot of “free” games or software that you download online come with hidden adware that will install itself with the software. Because you agreed to their terms and conditions, there is very little anyone can do against them.

The only thing you can really do is to switch your internet off, run a complete scan of your entire system and then delete all the adware. Repeat this process at least once more to make sure you get them all. Then, make sure your anti adware software is always running in the background to keep you protected.
